About Apprentix
Europe publishes a great deal of good information about apprenticeship and vocational education. Most of it can only be read one page at a time.
What this is
Apprentix takes information that is already public and republishes it as something you can query: search across every record at once, filter by the features you care about, and put schemes side by side.
Nothing here is new information. Everything is sourced, and every record links back to the official page it came from.
What this is not
- Not an official publication of any European institution or agency, and not endorsed by one.
- Not an authoritative record. Where this site and an official source differ, the official source is right.
- Not a commercial service. There are no accounts, no advertising and no tracking.
- Not a complete picture. Only the datasets listed on the home page are covered.
Why it exists
Because the questions people actually ask tend to cut across records rather than sit inside one. Which countries pay apprentices a wage rather than an allowance? Which schemes are post-secondary and mostly workplace-based? Who else runs something like the scheme I am looking at? Those questions are hard to answer by reading, and easy to answer once the same information is available as data.
How it is built
Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with no framework and no build step. The site is static files served directly, so it is cheap to run, fast to load and simple to audit. The source code is public.
Corrections
If you find a record that misrepresents its source, please say so — it will be corrected or removed. Accuracy matters more here than coverage.
